The child sponsorship program at Compassion International has been shown to have a significant impact on the educational and employment outcomes of participating children. For example, formerly sponsored children are up to 18 percent more likely to have salaried employment and approximately 35 percent more likely to be working in white-collar jobs as adults, compared to children who do not receive sponsorship.
Compassion International’s sponsorship program offers the opportunity for sponsors to change the lives of children living in extreme poverty by offering monthly financial support, as well as praying for and exchanging letters with the children. For an average of $25 to $45 a month, sponsors fund educational fees and school uniforms, as well as health care and supplements to protect against malnutrition.
