Additionally, the organization’s Compassion Survival initiative focuses on supporting the survival and development of at-risk babies and providing education for mothers and caregivers.
Compassion Survival focuses on four areas to ensure babies receive what they need during the critical first years of life. Home-based care means that a Survival specialist visits the home each month to provide prenatal education and child-rearing support for parents. Next, parents can also engage in group-based learning activities to help them generate come and find support from their community. Finally, the program funds medical treatment for mothers and arranges for support during childbirth and operating Survival Centers where mothers can access additional resources.
